The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) is the largest certifier of women-owned businesses. The organization not only certifies businesses owned by females, but it also advocates on behalf of female entrepreneurs. The WBENC helps and supports women to succeed in their chosen field.
At Hartford Technologies, we are proud to be a certified WBENC business. In her early-twenties, our CEO, President and majority owner, Laura Grondin, began working at Hartford Technologies, the company her father acquired in 1982. At Hartford, she first worked as an assistant controller, followed by controller and then became the head of human resources, among other positions. In 1999, her father retired and Grondin was promoted to CEO. One of her first goals was to reorganize the company to allow it to compete globally.
Throughout her successful career, Laura has remained an advocate for women in STEM-type businesses. She is the former board chairman of C200, a national organization comprised of female CEOs who desire to help and advance women’s leadership in today’s business environment.
As Laura Grondin continues her career, she continuously assists and encourages women not only in the industry, but in her hometown. As a competitive sailor, she understands hard work and determination, and she encourages other women to take on any challenge that comes their way. She supports all her employees and mentors, women and men alike, to say “Yes” to the next career opportunity, understanding that stepping outside of one’s comfort zone can add real growth to their life.
At Hartford Technologies, we are a proud to have Laura Grondin at the helm of our certified WBENC business.
