Introducing Our New CFO, M. Christopher "Chris" Cowles

Hartford Technologies, a leading US & China precision ball and custom bearing assembly manufacturer, announced that M. Christopher "Chris" Cowles has joined their company as Chief Financial Officer of Virginia Industries, Hartford’s parent company. 

As CFO, Mr. Cowles's primary responsibilities will be to oversee numerous departments: finance, accounting, human resources, risk management (including environment and safety), and capital. As CFO, Mr. Cowles will be a key player in the growth of Hartford Technologies. Mr. Robert Stanko, Hartford Technologies' EVP & GM said, “We are very fortunate to have Mr. Cowles join our team and feel he can be an immediate asset to the company". 

Mr. Cowles is a seasoned executive. Throughout his career, he has gained a wealth of leadership, human resources, financial, international, manufacturing, IT and business experience. Mr. Cowles has previously as the Vice President of Finance and CFO at Michaels Incorporated, a privately-held international retail jewelry business. Prior to joining Michaels, he was a key financial leader at Reflexite, an international manufacturer of reflective and solar products. At Reflexite, Mr. Cowles first served as the Controller responsible for a worldwide finance team and, then, as the Director of Finance for the newly formed solar division. Prior to joining Reflexite, he held Controller roles at The Waterbury Companies and at MacDermid Incorporated.

Mr. Cowles graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Accounting and went on to earn an MBA from UCONN. In addition to his role as CFO, he also teaches Advanced Accounting at the Central Connecticut State University. Mr. Cowles resides in Cheshire, CT with his wife and two daughters.
